Hello! My name is Emma and I have been working as a Software Developer at Inbox Insight after finishing my BSc in Computing for Digital Media at the University of Sussex and achieving a First Class.
I grew up in the village of Marchwood with my parents as an only child. From a young age, I took an interest in Art and enjoyed doing arts and crafts in my free time. However, my best subject at school was always Maths. I realised quite early on that I would probably end up in a career that was Maths or Logic based. However, at about 8 years old, I began to play the Cello, and realised that I had a good ear for music.
My skills in Art and Maths grew throughout my teenage years, where I attended a school called Applemore College. I continued to play the Cello and achieved my Grade 7 by Year 11, but had to stop temporarily because of my GCSEs. I achieved an A* in Maths (my highest grade) and an A in Art. I did not take Music as a subject as there was no structure to the lessons and singing seemed to be valued far above being able to play an instrument.
When I had left school, I attended Richard Taunton Sixth Form College, where I studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Music. It was a very hard choice for me to choose between Music and Art, but I felt that I would give up music if I didn't choose it. Even though I chose Music, I still created artwork occasionally for my own enjoyment. I then achieved my Grade 8 in Cello at the end of my first year of college.
Now I am free to pursue my newfound passion for art when I am not working and am enjoying it immensely, even if a lot of it is made up of Muse fan art!
